DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES

MedCentric tailors its services to the particular requirements of its clients, such as:

Direct Hire - Contingency & Retained Search

Hospitals, Health Plans, Medical Groups and IPA's often prefer to hire healthcare professionals directly, especially when they require specialized employees that are hard to recruit.  These organizations rely on MedCentric Search Firm to create, conduct, and complete the candidacy of such employees. MedCentric uses cutting edge technology, combined with proven methods for locating candidates who are qualified for the positions we have active searches for. We also screen potential candidates in a customize way, based on the clients need for a certain set of skills, credentials, and personality. Finally, we help these organizations not only to interview a short list of qualified candidates, but ultimately to hire the one candidate they view as the most qualified, and the best fit.

Per Diem Staffing

Per Diem assignments are daily or “as needed” assignments to cover for short-term temporary staffing needs of the hospital.  The hospital communicates what category and number of staff it needs to MedCentric Staffing at least two hours before the start of intended shift.  MedCentric Staffing coordinators go through the list of available healthcare staff that meet the requirement of the hospital and submit the name/s of such healthcare staff to the Hospital staffing office for confirmation.  There is no pre-set or guaranteed number of shifts per week.  MedCentric Staffing strives to provide the staff its facilities need.

Travel Staffing

Travel assignments can run anywhere from 8 to 17 weeks, depending on Hospital’s needs, but 13-week assignments are more common.  Under a travel engagement, both Hospital and healthcare professional are guaranteed three 12-hour shifts per week for the duration of the travel contract.  Shift assignments are normally given by the Hospital to the healthcare professional at least one week in advance.  MedCentric Staffing provides for the healthcare professional housing accommodations or an allowance for the duration of the travel assignment.  Also, travel arrangements from healthcare professional’s hometown to the place of assignment and back are made by MedCentric Staffing on its own account.

Block Booking

Hospitals have the option to pre-book certain healthcare professionals for a period of 3 to 6 months.  This allows the Hospital to secure the services of the healthcare professionals for a more stable staffing level.  Block booking is normally used to prepare for a prolonged manpower shortage, or when hospitals find some registry employees that they especially like.

Long-Term Staffing

Long-term assignments are considered by most as the preferred staffing solution.  Upon client’s approval, healthcare professionals are assigned to the client facility for 6, 12, 18, or 24 months, with a guaranteed 40-hour per week assignment.  The healthcare professional remains an employee of MedCentric Staffing, but reports operationally to the client facility’s Director of Nursing or Chief Nursing Officer.  The Director of Nursing is responsible for giving the healthcare professional one month work schedule one week before the start of intended assignment.  The work schedule details the healthcare professional’s work days, shift assignment, day/s off, and station assignment.  Work assignments are usually 7:00 am to 3:00 pm, 3:00 pm to 11:00 pm, or 11:00 pm to 7:00 am.  Giving a month-long schedule saves the client facility the trouble of making daily or weekly calls to MedCentric Staffing to request for manpower.

Strategic Partnership

Large private Hospitals, County Hospitals and health systems, especially in the underserved areas, normally prefer to enter into a Strategic Partnership with MedCentric Staffing.  Under this arrangement, MedCentric Staffing conducts recruitment activities and hires healthcare professionals directly from local schools or hospitals abroad and places them in the client Hospital for a period no less than 3 years.  In exchange for this guaranteed staffing, the Hospital sponsors the healthcare professionals (who have no actual work experience in a US Hospital) in a preceptorship program or any new-hire orientation program that the Hospital has in existence, sometimes running from 3 to 6 months.  This leads to savings on employee turnover, cost of errors due to poor training gained elsewhere, stability of manning levels, and employee appreciation and loyalty.  The healthcare professionals remain employees of MedCentric Staffing, but they cannot be reassigned by MedCentric Staffing to its other clients.  At the end of the Agreement Period, MedCentric Staffing personnel assigned to the Hospital have the option of being absorbed into the regular workforce of that Hospital upon mutual agreement between healthcare professional and Hospital.
